Call for abstract FORTMED Congress 2017: Alicante, Spain, 26-28 October 2017
It is our pleasure to send you the call for abstract for the third edition of the FORTMED congress. The University of Alicante is very grateful to the Scientific Committee for having chosen Alicante to hold the congress in 2017. We hope to rise to the challenge of the two previous editions, in which it is necessary to emphasize the good organization of both events and the satisfactory scientific level of the Papers and presentations.
FORTMED 2017 will be held from October 26 to 28 in our city. Alicante has a large fortification heritage complex of modern times, such as the Castle of Santa Barbara, the island of Tabarca, the watchtowers of the coast or the Castle of San Fernando. In these military works intervened some of the best engineers of the moment like the Antonelli, Jacobo Palear Fratín or Jorge Próspero Verboom. We hope that the congress will be an occasion for a greater appreciation of this rich heritage, in this case among specialists in the field. The public administrations, mainly Alicante City Council, have warmly welcomed the initiative and have facilitated that some phases of the congress will take place in the Castle of Santa Barbara. The majority of the sessions of the congress will be developed in the campus of the University of Alicante, in San Vicente del Raspeig.
We hope to see you in Alicante - a particularly warm land - next October in FORTMED 2017. The exchange of knowledge, research and experiences around the fortified heritage enrich us all without a doubt. In the attached flyer you will find how to access the website, and from there to send the abstracts, registration, etc. For any further information, or doubt that requires clarification, do not hesitate to send an email to email@example.com.
